Kazakhstan launches ‘Single Window’ process for all import-export documents

NUR-SULTAN – All import and export documentation in Kazakhstan can now be obtained through Single Window, according to the State Revenue Committee press service. The change, implemented by this Ministry of Finance committee and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), is part of a larger initiative to promote operations and make them more convenient for traders.

Using Single Window, importers and exporters no longer need to apply to different institutions for various documents and permits. The system simplifies and accelerates the customs procedure process, reducing traders’ time and costs while promoting the operation.

Excluding the human factor in the decision-making process will minimise the likelihood of corruption, increasing the transparency of actions by customs and other government bodies.

Traders will be able to provide and receive necessary information in a standardised form with a single interface. Through Single Window, they can obtain all needed permits and monitor their execution status, including integration with government systems.

Single Window and its basic elements include electronic permits and licenses, services to obtain customs activities’ legal status and issue preliminary decisions, customs declarations, integrated customs tariffs and reviewing reference books, registers and regulatory documents.

The first stage of Single Window was commissioned March 27. The mechanism is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

Single Window may be accessed at www.eokno.gov.kz (www.sw.gov.kz).
