“Kazakhstan is creating the most favourable conditions for the formation of a competitive nation as per the task of the head of state. The Bolashak programme was created at his initiative in 1993. The first programme of training in the world’s leading universities [has allowed the training of] about 8,000 highly qualified specialists,” said Deputy Prime Minister Berdybek Saparbayev in his opening remarks at the forum.

Kazakhstan needs highly educated human resources, Saparbayev emphasised. According to him, representatives of the younger generation need to form a new wave of modern and effective managers, scholars and inventors, which must heavily contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

In the last four years, the amount of funding for education doubled, while scientific funding increased 2.5 times. The state allocates more than 35,000 grants annually for free education in the country’s universities and training abroad annually, Minister of Education and Science Aslan Sarinzhipov underlined.

Chairman of the Board of the Baiterek Holding Kuandyk Bishimbayev and President of CIP Gani Nygymetov, themselves graduates of the Bolashak programme, also made opening remarks, while young professionals shared their professional experiences as well as some sports achievements they believe have contributed to the development of Kazakhstan.

At the end of the forum, Saparbayev presented certificates to the scholars who have recently joined the ranks of those receiving Bolashak scholarships. Sarinzhipov also presented gifts to the winners of international and national competitions.

Meetings with famous businessmen and the managers of projects such as Corporate University and the Bolashak Career Centre were organised during the event.
