Immunodeficiency Drugs to Be Produced in Akmola Region

AKMOLA REGION – The Project on Technologies’ Commercialization of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan with the support of the World Bank and the Government of Kazakhstan has launched a project to produce in the Akmola region the generic form of imported drugs to treat immunodeficiency.

The project will include the production of recombinant proteins with immune system stimulating and antiviral activity and be led by candidate of biological sciences Oleg Ten in Stepnogorsk. The project will be implemented with the help of a team of scientists from the National Centre for Biotechnologies. The project is currently still in the planning stages.
