NUR-SULTAN – The Aktyubinsk Polymer Factory workshop in the industrial zone of Aktobe has begun producing big bags and railcar liners for the transport of bulk cargo. This is the first stage of the project, the total cost of which is 1 billion tenge (US$2.6 million).
“Today, a promising project is opening in the industrial zone of the city – a plant for the production of big bags. We hope that this project will make a significant contribution to the development of the regional economy and will create new jobs for locals,” said Deputy Akim (Governor) of Aktobe Region Mavr Abdullin, Kazinform reports.
Big bags or disposable soft containers are large, strong bags with lifting lines in dozens of designs. The carrying capacity of the bags ranges from 500 kilogrammes to 2,000 kilogrammes.
A cutting and sewing workshop for assembling the bags, the first stage of production, was opened today. That workshop will eventually be expanded and new workshops built for extruding polypropylene and preparing raw materials. Equipment will be purchased for extruding polypropylene.
“Our enterprise is only three years old. We started with two sewing machines and rented a facility. We successfully defended the project for the construction of the Aktyubinsk Polymer Factory. We plan to make big bags, including the manufacture of polypropylene fabric. We got two hectares of land in the industrial zone of Aktobe. The location is very convenient, all engineering networks have already been connected,” said the factory’s director, Botagoz Taibukenova.
“We began with marketing analysis and found out that there is a great demand for the products. There are many mining companies that need them. We focus on quality. The raw material is delivered from Russia, from Chelyabinsk Region and Yaroslavl,” she said.
The enterprise has signed a contract with Tengizchevroil for the supply of railroad liners. Now the new shop is operating at 40 percent capacity. Its equipment can produce 300,000 big bags and 30,000 car liners per year. After the full implementation of the project, it is planned to produce up to 1 million bags per year.
