ASTANA – More than 100 diplomatic representatives accredited in Brazil, including from the Embassy of Kazakhstan, attended a charity fair for orphans at the Mane Garrincha National Stadium in Brasilia on Nov. 28, according to the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
“The pavilion of Kazakhstan attracted great interest among visitors of the fair, it was also visited by Governor of Brazil’s federal district Rodrigo Rollemberg, his spouse and other guests. The governor expressed his gratitude for the participation of Kazakhstan’s embassy at the fair and commended Kazakhstan’s exposition,” according to the MFA.
More than 80,000 residents and guests of Brazil’s capital attended the fair. Guests tried Kazakh national dishes at the Kazakh pavilion.
All funds raised at this, the 11th annual fair, will be used to help children in orphanages and create favourable conditions for their development.
Major and minor lotteries were organised for guests with prizes including certificates for restaurants, spa facilities, fitness clubs, trips, airline tickets and gifts from embassies. Every embassy had its own stand with national souvenirs, Christmas gifts, pastries, sweets and national dishes.
In addition, a football tournament, concerts and a large photo exhibition of embassies were held as a part of the fair.
