President Nursultan Nazarbayev recently met with government representatives to discuss the development of the energy sector of Kazakhstan under current economic conditions, reported the press service of the Akorda.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Karim Massimov, head of Presidential Administration Nurlan Nigmatulin and other heads of agencies and organisations involved in the energy sector.
Among the topics discussed, the energy policy of the country, which is suffering as a result of instability in world prices for hydrocarbons, was the most central. In addition, the participants discussed gas supply issues for the southern regions of the country during the winter season as well as optimisation of operations and infrastructure for the transportation of energy resources.
The President also gave government representatives specific instructions.
