Kyrgyzstan Mobilises for Participation in EXPO 2017

Participation in EXPO 2017 is of great importance to Kyrgyzstan, said Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Valery Dil during a meeting on the preparations for Kyrgyzstan’s participation in the international specialised exhibition, which will be held June 10 to Sept. 10, 2017 in Astana, the official website of the Kyrgyz government reported.

“Special attention in preparation of the Kyrgyz pavilion should be paid to renewable energy sources and available hydropower potential of our country, which can meet the electricity needs of the entire region of Central Asia,” said Dil.

According to him, the exhibition will attract a large number of business people from all over the world.

“Participation in EXPO2017 will allow establishing contacts with representatives of Kazakhstan business circles, which needs new generating capacity. In this exhibition, we can discuss in detail the prospects for mutually beneficial joint use of border rivers,” Dil concluded.

Following the meeting, certain state bodies and the Chamber of Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic were assigned specific tasks concerning preparation for the exhibition and relevant organizational and financial issues.

Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Tayirbek Sarpashev confirmed his country’s intention to participate in EXPO 2017. He said this during the meeting with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and EXPO 2017 Commissioner Rapil Zhoshybayev in Bishkek in December 2014. In turn, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Marat Sharshekeev expressed interest in attracting Kyrgyz companies to prepare for the exhibition and assured that his country will be well represented at EXPO 2017.
