International Fashion Industry Leaders Meet in Astana

ASTANA – The 14th Kazakhstan Fashion Industry International Specialized Exhibition (autumn 2013) kicked off in Congress Hall on Oct.. 24. Over its lifetime, the fair has gained the status as one of the largest professional fashion exhibitions annually held in the capital of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition showcases the achievements of local manufacturers, presents opportunities to develop the country’s fashion industry and facilitates business-to-business meetings between clothing and textiles manufactures, fashion exporters, local distributors, importers and retailers. The three-day event attracted leading fashion industry companies from Russia, Belarus, Turkey, India, Latvia and Central Asian countries, which presented their latest developments, trends and products.

According to organisers, the exhibition is not only a platform for networking, but a place for designers and stylists to scope out new ideas.

Expo sections represented different product groups, including men’s and women’s fashion, children’s clothing, shoes, wedding dresses, handmade products, accessories and home decor patterns.

The exhibition also included the San Dala Eurasian Fashion Festival of Young Designers, which showcased the work of fashion graduate students from various academies.

The event organised by Aydahar Expo drew a large number of professional exhibitors and attendees from the general public. According to the event’s statistics, 25 percent of exhibiting companies were from Kazakhstan, 15 percent and 18 percent respectively were from Russia and Belarus. Central Asia countries, primarily Kyrgyzstan, made up 7 percent of the participants and 35 percent came from other countries.
