ASTANA – President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree to establish the Ministry of Civil Service to improve the civil service and counter corruption, the Akorda’s press service reported on Dec. 11.
The decree establishes the new ministry and replaces the previous Agency of Civil Affairs and Anti-Corruption that was in charge.
The new Anti-Corruption Bureau will be established under the ministry to prevent, detect, suppress and investigatecases of corruption.
Former deputychief of staff to the President Talgat Donakovhas been appointed the new minister. Previously, Donakov headedthe Department of Legislation and Legal Expertise under the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan and the State-Legal Department.
