ASTANA – The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is already drawing benefits for two Kazakh and Russian businesses, allowing Russia’s Aivengo-4, LLC and Kazakhstan’s Partner Sales Network BMC Sales, LLP to sign a seven million tenge (US$37,338) contract on July 20 for the supply of garment products.
“I’m sure it is only the first step in our partnership, which became possible due to the integration within the EAEU. It is very important today. Business took such a level of integration as a reliable basis for its work and replied with the growth of the initiatives, and this is a real economy,” said AizhanShebanova, president of the International Fund Eurasian Dialogue and head of the Kazakh Diaspora of the Ivanovo region.
Shebanova initiated the idea, which was then supported by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation and the administration of the Ivanovo region.
“In the former Soviet Union,the city of Ivanovo was known as a textile cluster, but itspotential is not limited. Our plans include both economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation of the Ivanovo region with the cities and regions of Kazakhstan. For example, our universities are willing to accept students from Kazakhstan for training in specialties that are in demand in Kazakhstan. Andrepresentatives of the business community of our region are interested in supplying Ivanovo with fruits and vegetables from the South Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda and Almaty regions. The Ivanovo region is part of the Central Federal District, and therefore offers opportunities for deliveries to the largest metropolis – Moscow,” said Shebanova.
The administration of the Ivanovo region mentioned during a visit by a Kazakh delegation in May to celebrate Entrepreneurs Day in Ivanovo the possibility of signing a sister city agreement between the cities of Ivanovo and Shymkent.
