ASTANA – Kazakhstan’s tennis player Alexander Bublik defeated France’s Arthur Fils with a 6-4, 6-4 victory, securing his third ATP Tour title at the European Open in Antwerp on Oct. 22, reported the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation’s press service.
Bublik, currently ranked 36th in the ATP rankings, outplayed Fils, who holds the 38th spot, clinching his second tour-level title of the season.
Bublik claimed his first ATP 500 title in the 2023 Halle Open in June, and became the champion of the ATP 250 Open Sud de France in Montpellier in February last year.
Mere hours apart, Andrey Golubev won in the doubles category with Ukrainian partner Denys Molchanov against Yuki Bhambri of India and British Julian Cash with a score of 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 in the ATP 250 tournament in Stockholm.
This title marks Golubev’s debut at such a high level of competition.
