Local authorities plan to allocate 300 hectares and provide infrastructure. Also, in accordance with a bilateral agreement, the station will be called Kunnery.

“In recent years, the problem of energy security has come to the forefront in the world. Therefore, we see the need in the building of a solar power plant in the southern region. In your region there are mainly sunny, hot days and few cloudy days. After recovering costs, we will return the station to your order,” said Ie.

Akim (Governor) of the region Zhanseit Tuimebayev has expressed support for the’ proposal and stressed that the demand for electricity in the region is increasing every year.

“The main theme at the EXPO 2017 exhibition is green economy. We are in search for alternative energy sources. In regard to this, I fully support your proposals. You will be allocated a land plot and provided all necessary infrastructure. In the South Kazakhstan region, about 300 days a year are cloudless, this is very profitable for the implementation of this project,” he added.

Following the meeting, Deputy Head of the South Kazakhstan region Baurzhan Zhamalov and the special representative of Qingdao Beihai signed a memorandum to implement the investment project in the energy sector.
