ASTANA — Kazakhstan is set to host two significant international visits in early November. French President Emmanuel Macron will embark on an official visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Nov. 1, 2023. Following that, on Nov. 2, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will also make an official visit to Kazakhstan, the Akorda press service reported.

French-Kazakh talks to enhance economic cooperation
President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Kazakhstan is expected to bolster diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations. The agenda for the visit includes negotiations on strengthening trade, economic, investment, and energy cooperation. Additionally, Macron and Tokayev will discuss international and regional plans.
Last year, Tokayev reiterated Kazakhstan’s commitment to boost its strategic partnership with France during his visit to Paris last November.
The countries have historically enjoyed cordial relations. In May 2021, Kazakhstan and France approved a joint roadmap for trade, economic, and investment cooperation through 2030.
The visit of Hungary’s Prime Minister to Astana
The day after President Macron’s visit, Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary will arrive in Astana for an official visit on Nov. 2. His visit will focus on expanding Kazakh-Hungarian cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Anniversary 10th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States
On Nov. 3, Astana will host the 10th-anniversary summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The event will be a significant gathering of leaders from member and observer states to reinforce cooperation and mutual understanding among Turkic nations.
The heads of OTS member states will attend the summit, including Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan. Leaders from OTS observer states, Hungary and Turkmenistan, will also participate in the summit. Discussions during the event are expected to touch on a wide range of issues, including economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and regional stability.
The OTS has been pivotal in promoting unity and collaboration among Turkic-speaking nations and strengthening diplomatic and economic bonds among its member and observer states.
