ASTANA – Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Shaidorov has climbed to second place in the updated International Skating Union (ISU) world rankings with 4,193 points, marking the highest position of his career.

The rankings are led by United States skater Ilia Malinin with 4,590 points, while Japan’s Yuma Kagiyama is third with 4,123 points.
Shaidorov’s rise in the rankings follows his bronze-medal finish at the ISU Challenger Series Memorial Ondrej Nepela in Bratislava, Slovakia. The tournament marked the Kazakh skater’s first international competition of the 2026/27 season and his first international start since the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Shaidorov scored 272.75 points overall, earning 95.98 points in the short program and 176.77 points in the free skating program.
Russia’s Evgeni Semenenko, competing as a neutral athlete, won the tournament with 292.09 points, while Italy’s Daniel Grassl took second place with 278.80 points.
The second-place ranking represents Shaidorov’s highest-ever position in the ISU world rankings.
