“We are not starting the roadshow in London by chance. It is one of the world’s leading financial and legal centers. The United Kingdom is our strategic partner. Alatau City is a national project launched at the initiative of the head of state. We are creating a new center for business, finance, technology and logistics that is expected to become an important link in economic cooperation between Europe and Asia,” Bozumbayev said.

The city’s key advantages include a special legal regime established under a constitutional law. It provides for the application of principles of English and Welsh law, investment protection mechanisms and a predictable business environment.

An expert session featured international law firms Norton Rose Fulbright, Reed Smith and Boies Schiller Flexner. Discussions focused on investment-related legal frameworks, public-private partnerships, international arbitration, digital asset regulation and commercial dispute resolution. Participants also discussed plans to establish a specialized investment court in Alatau City based on the principles of English law.

The program included meetings with executives from the London Stock Exchange, Brookfield Asset Management, Société Générale, J.P. Morgan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Discussions focused on attracting institutional capital, project financing and potential participation by international financial institutions in developing the city’s energy, transport and engineering infrastructure.

Alatau City’s investment portfolio includes 67 projects valued at approximately $6.9 billion, expected to create around 55,000 jobs. The city is also implementing 26 engineering and transport infrastructure projects worth 35.3 billion tenge (US$7.8 million), covering electricity, water and gas supply, sewerage networks and roads.

The roadshow will continue with meetings with UK government agencies, financial institutions and strategic partners. Germany will be the next stop on the European roadshow.
