Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways Eyes Resumption of Direct Flights to Kazakhstan

ASTANA – Kuwait’s airline Jazeera Airways is interested in resuming direct flights to Kazakhstan once regional conditions stabilize, potentially restoring a route suspended after its launch in 2021.

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Yerzhan Yelekeyev discussed restoring direct air connectivity with Jazeera Airways CEO Barathan Pasupathi, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported on Oct. 13.

The officials explored opportunities to expand cooperation in civil aviation, tourism and trade. Yelekeyev emphasized that resuming flights would boost tourist flows, strengthen business ties and facilitate exports of Kazakh products to Kuwait.

Jazeera Airways reaffirmed its interest in the Kazakh market, saying it would consider resuming flights when the regional situation stabilizes and operating conditions become favorable.

The airline launched direct flights between Kuwait City and Almaty in 2021, but suspended the service later due to the regional situation.
