He praised Kazakhstan’s development and its growing role in regional and international affairs.

“The continuing transformation of Kazakhstan into a world player is impressive. Only recently, the Kazakh people cemented constitutional reforms that reflect new ambitions for the people. By all standards, Kazakhstan is today a modern society built on ancient foundations and traditions. With a well-educated population, a large middle class and state-of-the-art infrastructure, Kazakhstan is ready to tackle challenges for the future,” King Philippe said.

The king highlighted Kazakhstan’s progress in digitalization and artificial intelligence. He also praised Kazakhstan’s role in promoting dialogue and understanding, noting the country’s multicultural society and its position at the heart of the Middle Corridor.

“Kazakhstan is now at the core of the Middle Corridor, literally in the heart of the region. As a bridge builder, Kazakhstan is more than ever the promoter of dialogue, the rules-based international order and the firm belief in multilateralism as a way to solve disputes. This is what fundamentally binds Kazakhstan with Belgium and the European Union,” Philippe said.

The two leaders also expressed expectations for the upcoming fourth Kazakh-Belgian Business Council and other meetings, which they said would provide platforms for turning shared ambitions into tangible results.
