ASTANA – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will deliver a state-of-the-nation address in October, outlining Kazakhstan’s goals and priorities for the upcoming period, he said during a Sept. 11 ceremony honoring winners and medalists of the sixth World Nomad Games in Astana.

President Tokayev made the announcement at a ceremony at the Palace of Independence, where he congratulated Kazakhstan’s athletes and coaches on their performances at the World Nomad Games, praising the national team for demonstrating strong skills and strengthening Kazakhstan’s standing in traditional sports.
“Today, the authority of Kazakh sport is higher than ever, and the whole world recognizes this. Our athletes are always among the best,” he said.
Tokayev also highlighted sport’s broader role in strengthening public health and human capital, pointing to work underway to advance these principles enshrined in the Constitution. He said Kazakhstan is moving forward as a nation focused on the future, with ambitious goals and clear plans.
Tokayev also highlighted Kazakhstan’s growing role as a host of major international sporting events. Next year, the capital will host seven world championships, while Almaty is set to host the 10th Asian Winter Games in 2029.
“We have a huge amount of work ahead, but all these international events are extremely important for strengthening the authority and prestige of our country,” Tokayev said.
