ASTANA – Kazakhstan has resumed oil transportation through the Atyrau-Samara pipeline after suspending operations following drone attacks on facilities in Russia, according to the Kazakh Ministry of Energy.
The pipeline returned to operation after specialists inspected the infrastructure and confirmed that the equipment was safe to use.
Oil transportation was suspended at 6:09 a.m. Astana time Monday, following drone attacks on facilities at the Samara production and dispatch center.
No casualties were reported, and the situation remains under the ministry’s control, according to the statement.
The Atyrau-Samara pipeline is Kazakhstan’s second-largest oil export route by transportation volume, after the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system.
