Kazakhstan’s Deputy Chairperson of the Security Council Aida Balayeva highlighted the importance of closer cooperation among Turkic states amid growing geopolitical instability and emerging international security challenges during the fifth meeting of the secretaries of security councils of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on Sept. 17 in Baku.
The meeting addressed current security threats, the impact of developments in the Middle East on the security environment of OTS member states, and the development of national artificial intelligence capabilities in the context of national security, reported Kazinform.
They paid particular attention to Kazakhstan’s initiatives to establish a council on cybersecurity and a network of artificial intelligence centers of Turkic states. Participants stressed the need to develop practical mechanisms for cooperation, including direct interaction between relevant government agencies.
The heads of the OTS delegations also met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of continued dialogue and deeper cooperation to promote regional stability and security.
