NUR-SULTAN – Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev replaced his chief of staff and made new appointments to government positions June 28, reported Akorda press service. Changes were also made at the regional level.

Krymbek Kusherbayev was appointed as the head of the Presidential Administration, having previously served as the Kyzylorda Region’s Akim (Governor).
In the 1990s, Kusherbayev served as an assistant to the deputy prime minister and a press secretary – the head of the presidential press service. Previously, he had served as minister of education, culture and health and minister of education and science. In late 2000, he became an Akim (Governor) of the West Kazakhstan Region, and in November 2003, he became ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia. From January 2006, he was the Akim (Governor) of the Mangystau Region. In 2012, he was appointed as a Deputy Prime Minister. From January 2013, he became the Akim (Governor) of the Kyzylorda region.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev was removed from his post as head of the Presidential Administration to be appointed as Almaty’s Akim (Mayor). He had served as the head of the administration since March 24. Prior to that, he served as the Prime Minister from September 2016.

Zhanibek Nupirov was appointed executive secretary of the Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration. Nupirov graduated from Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, and the Academy of National Economy under the Russian Government.
He began his career in 1999 in the Treasury Department of the capital, then continued working in the Ministry of Finance since 2001. Over the years, he worked as a head of structural divisions at the Kazakh Statistics Agency, the Ministries of Finance and of Economy and Budget Planning, as well as the Accounts Committee for Control over Execution of the National Budget. Since 2017, he served as a deputy head of the Department of Social and Economic Monitoring of the Presidential Administration.
Daulet Yemberdiyev was appointed ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kuwait and Akan Rakhmetullin as ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan.
Yemberdiyev is a diplomat, a specialist in the Middle East. He worked for a long time in that region. He has the diplomatic rank of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy of Class II. He is fluent in Arabic, English, Turkish, Persian and Hebrew. His career in the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan began in 1993. Prior to his appointment, he was the counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan to the United Nations in New York.
Rakhmetullin is a diplomat, a specialist in multilateral diplomacy, international security and disarmament. He began his diplomatic career as an assistant, and then as an attaché at the Consular Department of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1993. Prior to his appointment, from December 2015, he was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Multilateral Cooperation Department director.
Along with that, according to the Kazakh government’s decree, Daniyar Yesin was appointed to the position of Vice Minister of Information and Social Development of Kazakhstan.

Yesin was born in 1981 in the Karaganda Region. He studied at the Kazakh Financial Police Academy, Kazakh-Russian University, Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the Russian President.
He began his career in 1998. In various years, he worked in the Office for Investment and Development of the capital being as its deputy head and later its head. In 2016-2018, he was head of the Office of Religious Affairs of the capital. Since March 2018, he has headed the Office for Social Development of Nur-Sultan.
According the order of the Mangystau Region’s akim (governor), in coordination with the President Administration, Kanybek Zhumashev was appointed the region’s deputy akim (governor).
Zhumashev studied at the Al-Farabi Kazakh State University and the Aktau Yessenov State University. He began his career in 1992 as a chemical engineer at the Karazhanbasmunai Company. In 1998-2000, he was a leading specialist of the Mangystau regional education administration. In 2005-2010, he served as the deputy director and head of the regional Department of Education and advisor to the regional akim (governor). Over the next two years, he was the region’s deputy akim (governor). From 2012, he worked in Nur Otan Party structures, being first deputy chair of the Mangystau regional branch, deputy head of the Central Office, advisor to the first deputy chair. Since 2015, he served as the party’s secretary.
