Tokayev described the Jordanian king’s official visit as a sign of the strong ties of friendship, mutual respect and solidarity between the two countries.

“Jordan is a time-tested and reliable partner of ours in the Arab world. In recent years, our cooperation has gained new momentum. We highly value the strong political dialogue between us, which is maintained at various levels,” Tokayev said.

He noted that the previous year had marked an important milestone in bilateral relations, with reciprocal high-level visits and the signing of a joint statement and numerous agreements between government agencies and business representatives.

Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s commitment to implementing the agreements and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He described economic engagement as a key driver of bilateral relations and pointed to opportunities to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties through academic and scientific exchanges and tourism.

The president also highlighted the countries’ shared approaches to international and regional issues and praised King Abdullah II’s contribution to strengthening bilateral ties and bringing the two nations closer.

Tokayev commended Jordan’s role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond, as well as the king’s initiative to launch the Aqaba Process more than a decade ago.

“Kazakhstan highly values the Aqaba Process. It is a great honor for us to co-host the first meeting in this format in Central Asia,” Tokayev said.

He said the summit’s focus on artificial intelligence security was particularly timely and expressed confidence that it would present the Central Asian region’s perspective and give fresh impetus to joint efforts to promote peace and security.

King Abdullah II thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome and said the two countries shared longstanding relations, mutual respect and a commitment to strengthening peace and stability.

“As you mentioned, last year’s exchange of visits gave a significant boost to bilateral relations. We intend to continue implementing the agreements reached and expand cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, tourism, technology and defense,” he said.

King Abdullah II also expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s role in organizing a new round of Aqaba Process meetings, describing the initiative as evidence of the two countries’ shared commitment to addressing regional and global security challenges.

He reaffirmed Jordan’s interest in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan on regional security and countering terrorism and extremism.

Tokayev noted that the award is named after the renowned Eastern philosopher whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

“Al-Farabi holds a special place in the hearts and minds of the entire Arab world. His enduring ideas of wisdom, harmony and unity continue to unite our cultures. We highly appreciate your tireless efforts to support these noble values. It is especially symbolic that you have become the first recipient of this order. I consider this a historic event,” Tokayev said.

King Abdullah II, in turn, presented Tokayev with Jordan’s highest state honor, the Order of al-Hussain ibn Ali, as a sign of respect and political trust between the two countries.

Tokayev thanked the king for the award, describing it as a symbol of the strong friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.

“It is a great honor for me to receive the highest award of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This order bears the name of the founder of your noble dynasty. His legacy, based on honor, faith and dedication to his people, continues to inspire many generations,” Tokayev said

He added that he viewed the award not only as recognition of his personal achievements but also as a testament to the close and strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Jordan.
