According to Akbarov, the fields are located primarily in the western regions, notably in the Mangystau and Atyrau Regions, Kazinform reported on April 7.

He added that Kazakhstan has 15 sedimentary basins, five of which are currently in production, while geological exploration continues in the remaining areas.

Production at the newly discovered fields is expected to be carried out mainly by domestic companies.
