Regular flights to Warsaw are scheduled to begin in May, followed by seasonal summer service to Cyprus in June. A new direct route to Tokyo is also expected to launch this year, along with a planned connection to Shenzhen, China.

The new destinations are expected to operate at least twice a week, supporting tourism growth and attracting more international visitors to Almaty. At the same time, flight frequency on existing routes continues to increase, particularly with China. A route to Chengdu was launched at the end of last year, adding to existing connections with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Urumqi and Hangzhou.

Earlier, Air Astana switched to its summer schedule, which runs from March 29 to Oct. 24. Meanwhile, Uzbek carrier Qanot Sharq launched a new direct route between Almaty and Tashkent on March 31.
