The higher score reflects the bank’s progress in responsible financing, improving access to financial services, and strengthening its environmental and social responsibility. Key priorities include financial inclusion, information security, business ethics, and the management of environmental and social risks. The bank is also implementing a climate strategy and developing green financing instruments.
The bank’s sustainability approach is set out in several key documents, including its Climate Strategy for 2025-2050, Green Financing Policy, Sustainability Policy, and Environmental and Social Risk Management Policy. These frameworks define how ESG factors are incorporated into business processes and decision-making.
BCC also continues to focus on transparency in sustainability reporting. This year, the bank published its third independently verified sustainability report, covering 2025. The report was prepared in accordance with GRI, SASB and IFRS S1/S2 standards and, for the first time, included an assessment of the bank’s impact on Kazakhstan’s economy.
The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) is an annual assessment of companies’ sustainability practices, covering environmental, social and governance aspects of their operations. Companies are scored on a scale of 0 to 100 under S&P Global’s sector-specific methodology, enabling comparisons of corporate approaches to ESG management and disclosure.
