ASTANA — A new direct air route between Almaty and Tashkent has been launched on March 31 by Uzbek carrier Qanot Sharq, further strengthening regional connectivity, Kazinform reported.
The inaugural flight was welcomed at Almaty International Airport with a ceremonial water arch, while arriving passengers were greeted with sweets at the gate, marking the launch in line with aviation traditions.
Flights will be operated three times a week: on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A321neo. The flight duration is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
According to the airport’s press service, the new route is expected to boost business, tourism and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, while further enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
