“Handing a personal library to the National Academic Library is a gesture of a high civil position. This is a very good example for others to follow and a great contribution to the education of young people of Kazakhstan,” said Saparbayev.

The personal library fund of the academician includes about 7,000 publications. Many of them were granted to Zholdasbekov as gifts, among them history books, world classic Roman texts and the best publications of contemporary literature.  Apart from books, 9,000 souvenirs and portraits were granted to the library.

“Books, unlike people, share their knowledge with everyone who opens their pages. As a representative of the reading generation, I took this difficult decision. But I am sure that these books will serve for the benefit of people,” said Zholdasbekov.

Talking about the celebration of the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Saparbayev mentioned problematic issues and activity perspectives concerning literature and art contributions to display the achievements the country made during the years of its independence. He also noted the importance of the participation of arts representatives at various events to promote the Kazakhstan’s multinational culture abroad.
