ASTANA – Akim (Mayor) of Astana Adilbek Dzhaksybekov identified the main vectors of the capital’s development at the first staff meeting in early January. The Nurly Zhol new economic policy was identified as the main guide of Astana’s development.
“The central point of our activities should be the initiative of the President on joining the top 30 developed countries in the world. To implement it, we need the necessary economic growth. We have to develop Astana as the capital of healthy and intelligent human potential,” said the akim.
One of the main directions of development, according to Dzhaksybekov, is the construction sector. He instructed systematic work on implementing of the architectural master plan of the capital to continue, and loan and rental housing to be built.
“In order to improve the investment and business climate in the capital, it is necessary to enhance investment projects, including those in the industrial park, as well as to take measures to fully support enterprises [and] to search and effectively use the credit resources of Asian and European financial institutions,” Dzhaksybekov said during the meeting.
He also noted that a priority issue is the development of Astana’s energy infrastructure. Among the most urgent tasks is the reconstruction and expansion of Central Heating and Power Plants 1 and 2 and the construction of a third heating and power plant. The mayor also drew attention to the development of Astana’s intellectual logistics strategy. In the social sphere, he called for attention to be directed towards employment and assistance to vulnerable groups.
At the end of the meeting, Dzhaksybekov gave instructions for constant supervision during the heating season, for beautification of residential areas, snow removal and road safety regulations.
