Chamber of Entrepreneurs Launches Site to Help Businesses

ASTANA – The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs has received about 1,625 complaints from businesses this year.

Despite a wide range of government programmes focused on reducing administrative barriers and addressing entrepreneurs’ problems, domestic businessmen in different sectors of the economy in different regions of the country face many of the same problems and ultimately end up wasting significant financial resources and time on mitigating them. However, in practice, they get help in extreme cases, for example, when business is being lost. In most cases, domestic businessmen are left with little help in coping with difficulties arising at work.

From now on, their problems will be recorded and categorised and a solution will arise thanks to the  project “Registry of Entrepreneurial Problems,” which was recently launched by the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs on its website (www.palata.kz).

“The Registry will efficiently interact with government agencies to promptly solve businessmen’s problems and receive information about the business climate as a whole,” Deputy Chair of the Board of the Chamber Gulnar Kurbanbayeva said. However, she stressed that the registry is intended to include only systemic issues; in particular, issues related to improving current legislation.

“According to analysis of received applications for assistance and complaints, most problems are related to the need to improve legislation. This should be carried out step by step, either in working groups and on interactive platforms with ministry heads, or though submission of certain documents to Parliament,” Kurbanbayeva explained.

As the deputy chair added, more that 230 amendments were introduced in the normative legal acts at the interdepartmental committee meeting on addressing business and legislation auditing problems.  According to statistics, the greatest number of problems arises in the construction and manufacturing industries and in public procurement. Illegal checks and inspections of business and complicated access to financial resources also create difficulties and obstacles for domestic entrepreneurs.
