ASTANA – A new draft political doctrine of the Nur Otan political party has been put forth for party and public discussion. The proposed doctrine is the first concept document defining the core values, mission and role of the party in the twenty-first century, as well as its historical responsibility.
The doctrine is called Nurly Bolashak Zholynda, “Creating the Future.” It is designed to consolidate the Kazakh society that has formed during the years of independence and its perceived core values. It also aims to determine the party’s role in the implementation of Kazakhstan’s Strategy 2050 policy.
This strategic document, to be adopted on the eve of Nur Otan’s 15th anniversary, intends to unite its members to ensure stability and the permanence of the course set for the country by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The document, developed on the instruction of Nazarbayev, marks a significant milestone in the development of the party and its renewal. The draft was discussed at three meetings of the party’s working group, which includes members of the party’s political council, members of parliament, prominent state and public figures and experts and scholars. It has taken into account examples of strategic documents created by foreign political parties. After discussion in all regional branches and primary organisations of the party, the final draft doctrine will be submitted to the delegates at the party’s 15th congress on October 18, 2013.
