Rybakina, who secured the world No. 1 ranking for the first time in her career, has already completed her first practice session on the outdoor courts and shared a message with fans.

“I’m so excited to be here in Indian Wells. Please watch our matches and enjoy the final week of tennis. And, of course, a huge thank you to all the fans who have supported me throughout the year. See you in court very soon,” she said.

The Kazakh player withdrew from the WTA 500 tournament in Tokyo after her match against fellow Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, which secured her the year-end No. 1 ranking. The decision allowed her to focus on recovery and adjust to the playing conditions in the United States.

The draw has placed Rybakina in Group 1 alongside Coco Gauff of the U,S., ranked fourth in the world, Jessica Pegula, ranked fifth, and Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic, ranked eighth.

Rybakina will open her campaign against Noskova. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. Kazakhstan time on Nov. 9.
