South Korean Burger Chain Mom’s Touch to Open 50 Outlets in Kazakhstan

ASTANA – South Korean burger chain Mom’s Touch plans to open at least 50 outlets in Kazakhstan over the next decade as it expands into Central Asia through a franchise agreement with local food group Shin-Line, The Korea Herald reported Oct. 26.

The first outlet is expected to open in the first half of 2027. The agreement also covers the Kyrgyz Republic, while the company plans to expand into major Kazakh cities, including Astana.

“We are preparing to open our first store in the first half of next year and develop Kazakhstan into a key base for our Central Asian operations,” a Mom’s Touch official said in a comment to The Korean Herald.

Mom’s Touch plans to introduce its signature chicken burgers made with whole chicken-thigh fillets, along with fried chicken and pizza.

Its local partner, Shin-Line Group, has a cold-chain logistics network serving about 10 countries and operates more than 70 outlets of a South Korean convenience store chain, mainly in Almaty.

The expansion follows Mom’s Touch’s entry into Uzbekistan in 2025.

Founded in South Korea in 2004, Mom’s Touch built its brand around chicken burgers made with whole chicken-thigh fillets rather than ground meat. Its signature Thigh Burger has helped establish the chain as a major domestic competitor to international fast-food brands.
