Capital Forecasts $606 Million in City Revenue for 2016

ASTANA – Deputy of the Astana Maslikhat and member of the city’s Economics and Budget Planning Management Committee Gulnar Dzhusupova announced at a recent meeting of the city maslikhat deputies that the projected 2016 income for the city will be 180 billion tenge (US$606 million). She said the funds will be used for construction, road maintenance, socially significant facilities, provision of social aid and implementing smart projects, among other programmes and facilities.

She also said that funds from the state budget for implementation of the country’s five budget programmes will be allocated to the capital’s Architecture and City Building Management Department.

Expenditures for implementing the Business Road Map 2020 programme, the provision and development of innovative activity in the capital, as well as preparations for the EXPO 2017 international exposition have already been laid out in the projections of the local budget.

In addition, money to fund 10 budget programmes is included in the future budget by local akimats. The funds will be used to provide social assistance to citizens in need. Costs are also provided for landscaping and gardening populated areas.

Some of the money will go to the maintenance and capital expenditures of state bodies and to the maintenance of the activity of the city Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Repairs to the Zhuldyz, Karlygash, Akbota, Gauhar and Akbope kindergartens are also planned for 2016.
