The Ritz-Carlton Brings Contemporary Luxury to Astana

ASTANA – The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC will open its first hotel in the Kazakh capital in spring 2017. The Guidance Team of the hotel and its unique service culture with luxurious accommodations and experiences were presented at the Astana Opera on Nov. 17.

Dennis Jung brings leadership experience and a commitment to quality from 10 years of luxury hotel and resort involvement. He served as hotel manager at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and Moscow.

The company motto “We are Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen” exemplifies the service provided by all team members and the reason presenting the Ladies and Gentlemen is considered very important to its policy. Friends and company representatives contributing to the hotel opening were invited to the party to get acquainted with the staff in a friendly environment.

General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Astana introduced the local hotel’s top managers.

Mr. Murat Gozukara is the Director of Finance at The Ritz-Carlton, Astana. He has over twenty years’ experience in the hotel industry in Turkey, UAE and Kazakhstan.

Executive Chef Andre Piednoir has more than 30-years’ experience in 5-Star hotels, resorts, free standing restaurants, pastry shops and Michelin-star restaurants in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the United States and the Caribbean. He was appointed Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul in 2012, achieving second place within the company in the Gallup Score for food quality in Middle East and Europe.

Director of Human Resources Saule Sultanova has competence to manage several hundreds of employees having won a number of awards including the 2012 Best Employer in Kazakhstan regions and Spirit to Serve Partnership Award for Eastern European countries.

Giselle Makarachvili, EAM-Rooms, began her career in Peru and has worked at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Arts Barcelona for more than four years. She was awarded Best 5-Star Leader in the second quarter of 2014 and won the best Ritz-Carlton world-wide line-up of the year.

Director of Engineering Svetlin Krastev has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering as well as Facility services, working in 5-Star hotels and private companies in Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

Makhabbat Bayaman, Director of Sales and Marketing, has a substantive experience of work in 5-star hotels. Her team was acknowledged as the best and most efficient in East European countries numerous times. Under her leadership Kazakhstan has received a young generation of professionals successfully working the hospitality industry in our country.

Erkan Karatas in charge of EAM-Food and Beverage has 20 years ‘international experience as he began his career in 1996 and joined The Ritz-Carlton in 2001. As a member of the opening team, he has played an active leadership and mentoring role as a pre-opening trainer in numerous of hotels including flagship hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul, Moscow, Guangzhou, Vienna, Abu Dhabi, Herzliya as well as other luxury brands such as The Istanbul EDITION, Bvlgari Hotel London. He’s a member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Association Mondiale de la Gastronomie and he carries WSET Advanced Diploma.

The hotel will be located in Talan Towers, a new building with a blend of modern and elegant design reflecting the vibrancy of the city. The complex is the first high-end mixed-use development in the capital, creating a new level of lifestyle and luxury experience. Located in the heart of the administrative district, the property is literally on the doorstep of architectural wonders like The Baiterek Tower and minutes from glittering skyscrapers.

The Ritz-Carlton, Astana will feature 157 hotel rooms and 25 residences. Its 14th-floor Club Lounge will offer guests an elevated experience and an additional sanctuary with a dedicated concierge and complimentary food and beverage throughout the day. The meeting space includes 10 conference rooms totalling 1,400 square metres.

The Grand Ballroom has four meeting rooms with a total space of almost 1,000 square metres and can be divided by partition walls. The meeting rooms and boardrooms will be excellent spaces to conduct business and VIP events.

Three new restaurants will be introduced to the capital scene adjacent to the main entrance and hotel lobby. өzen will be the place to meet as much as the location to work by offering a variety of organic products. The Mökki will provide a relaxed environment. One Eight (referring to the 18th floor) will offer an alternative and unexpected dining experience.

The hotel spa and fitness studio will create a haven for guests to unwind, recharge or simply escape. The urban spa, with indoor pool and treatment rooms, will offer a full range of beauty and body therapies including The Ritz-Carlton signature treatments and sit alongside a professionally-equipped fitness studio available 24/7.

The hotel opening will coincide with the start of EXPO 2017 and participants will be among the first guests.
